Faculty Wellness Day

Our Faculty Success and Wellness Day provides strategies to help us confront the many demands of our busy lives. This day is an opportunity to nourish ourselves both intellectually and holistically, to think about better ways to manage our time and build connections, and to explore wellness practices for self-care. When we take time for ourselves, both mentally and physically, we provide an example for others and we recharge in order to live out our personal values more effectively.

2021 Wellness Day

Our Fall 2021 Wellness Day event was held virtually on Friday, October 15.

We put together a folder which contains resources such as reflective exercises, a 30-day self care challenge, to tips on successfully working from home, and links to yoga, meditation and Tai Chi videos.  You will also find materials from the 2021 and 2020 Wellness Day sessions.

Keynote speaker: Dr. KerryAnn O’Meara

Aligning Faculty Time and Priorities

Do you ever get frustrated you can spend all day on email or tasks you had not predicted and never get to your priorities? Join us for a presentation about diagnosing some of our time saboteurs. We will consider time-use strategies and putting priorities front and center. O'Meara shares some work from three implementations of a 4 week faculty development series on time management. She shares common challenges, many of which accelerated during the pandemic, and strategies we can use to ensure wellness by aligning what we most want to get done and how we are spending our time.

Faculty Success and Wellness Day keynote is sponsored by VCU's Faculty Senate.
